GhostStorm sits down to chat to the Sons of Helghan members Xero and Guitar about there Machinima project named “Meet the Team” for Killzone 2.

(1) Who’s idea was it to do a Machinima based on Killzone 2?
Xero: Well, it was a bit of me, and a bit of everyone in the clan at the time. People were suggesting we make a video on the medic and make it a difficult life on him. I thought it would be kind of neat, but if it were to go anywhere it’d have to be bigger than just that. Guitar, from what I like to call my Co-Director and good friend, helped with the base idea as well as our writers. So, it was the members of our clan that sparked the idea, me that formed it into what it could become, and the help of me and my clan mates that formed Episode 1 in what it is right now.
Guitar: Originally, Xero came up with the main idea. We were talking about stuff we could do one day, and it just happened to pop up. Clan members helped make the idea clearer as well. After talking amongst the leaders, we came up with the groups and started recruiting for positions.
(2) How long did it take to edit the first video?
Xero: Editing surprisingly didn’t take all that long. There aren’t as many scenes in Episode 1 as there are in Episode 2… Especially not as much as there are in Episode 3!
Guitar: Longer than I wanted it to. Lol. It was my first time editing “professionally”, or to be seen by many, so I wanted to do it right. After many tries and revisions, we got the final version after about five days or so (because of constant uploading/downloading, etc).
(3) How long do you have to spend online playing Killzone 2 for each video?
Xero: Acting surprisingly takes up most of the time, other then trying to get the voices right for each scene. For Episode 1 it took us around 8 hours in total to record the scenes. Episode 2 took us around 14 or more.
Guitar: Acting is probably the most time consuming part. We record the first scenes, edit them together, and figure out which ones fit and which don’t. Then we have to go back, record some more, and do the same over. We make sure we get it right, and experiment (and screw) around while recording.

(4) Why are the Sons of Helghan doing this are you looking for a deal with Sony or Guerilla?
Xero: That would be great! We haven’t contacted Sony yet regarding anything. I believe we should get a little more famous and spread around before we try to make a deal with Sony, though.
Guitar: Honestly, I’d like Guerilla and/or Sony to at least recognize us for it. I at least want to get it out there and known to as many people as possible. Possibly end up with send us some KZ2 editing tools…
(5) How many people are involved in making the videos?
Xero: Every person that helps gets into the credits. But, overall, we have jobs set up. Game Actors, Voice Actors, Writers, Editors, Recorders and obviously the Directors. We accept applications for any of these, there are just terms that you must meet to be accepted. Speaking of which, Episode 3’s credits are going to be loooong.
Guitar: The number has and will vary with each episode. Me and Xero are the editors, while we get different people to voice act. Anybody from the clan willing to act can join us when we are recording as well. Possibly outside people in the future…
(6) Who is the voice behide Baby G?
Xero: My brother is actually the person who voices Baby G. He’s a talented individual when it comes to acting, so I gave him a shot in voice acting Baby G, and he nailed what I had in mind. And, we try to choose the best voice actor, for each character, that comes in mind. It’s hard, since we’re trying to put a Personality with a Voice.
Guitar: As Xero said, his brother voiced Baby G. At the time, nobody in the clan had really offered up voice samples, and after hearing his brother’s, they were good, and we decided to slap him with the part of Baby G.
(7) Are you planing to do every class in Killzone 2?
Xero: Of course! Keep in mind there isn’t just going to be 7 Episodes, though… The story will continue on from there. This is just introducing the characters that are in our story.
Guitar: Yes. We plan to do all of the 7 classes, introducing the personalities of each one. However, that is just the beginning.

(8) When is the next video due?
Xero: Next video, if going as planned, should be available to the public this week. If not, then surely next week. We just have a bit more of Voice acting to do, and editing (as well as song choice) to fix up, and then everyone will be able to enjoy it… And I’d like to say right now that the nickname we gave Assault is NOT going to be Mr. Assault. We decided to change it last second, and the name is more of an inside joke than anything, so sorry to anyone who doesn’t get it.
(9) Is there anything exclusive that you can throw at us?
Xero: Episode 3 is going to be a big episode, and I’m going to say this now… Most people will like this episode more than the previous 2. And if you’re reading this, you are hearing this here and no where else…
Guitar: I’ll say this- Episode 3 is going to be the best, and probably the longest.
Thanks guys, so there you have it the next video is due this week or early next week and will be exclusive air on GhostStorm first.
