The Most Devastating Video Game Weapons Ever Created

In almost every video game created we have needed a way to kill the enemy. In the early day’s of video game’s, we would have to jump on their heads but over time developers have created new and devastating weapons to kill our foes. The list that follows details the most devastating of these ever created.

10. Holy Hand Grenade – Worms Series

Taken from the Classic Monty Python film, the Holy Hand Grenade is the most devastating weapon in the game. There’s nothing more Satisfying than using th Holy Hand Grenade on a group of worms, it causes absolute havoc, doing over 80 points of damage on each worm.

9. Pandora Box – Devil May Cry 4

This demonic briefcase appears in Devil May Cry 4. When Pandora Box is opened it produces a bizarre variety of  666 weapons, each one more unique and unusual than the last. In my opinion the mobile missile platform which can be used to fire missiles in 360 degrees is by far the coolest weapon produced by Pandora Box.

8. Hammer of Dawn – Gears of War Series

This the most powerful weapon in Gears of War. While the Hammer of Dawn looks like a rifle, it is not a gun, but rather a spotting and targeting device for an orbiting satellite. The actual gun paints a target for the Hammer of Dawn Satellite and after a few seconds of locking on and charging, the result is a beam of energy which obliterates everything within a small radius.

7. Cerebral Bore – Turok 2 & Turok 3

The now legendary weapon was first feature in Turok 2. The Cerebral Bore would fire a drill-like projectile that locked onto to the victims brain wave. When the drill-like projectile hits it, it would then burrow deep into the victims skull digging out comical amounts of brain goo before exploding.

6. Fat Man – Fallout 3

The Fat Man is Mini Nuke projectile and is perfect for taking out multiple enemies. The Fat Man has a very large explosive radius and must been use with caution as it will obliterate everything on screen. After it goes off, you will see a perfect mushroom cloud rise up from the area you use the Fat Man on.

5. Redeemer – Unreal Series

The Redeemer is the most powerful weapon in the unreal arsenal, the Redeemer is a slow moving but devastating handheld mini nuke. Even if you miss your target, the splash damage caused by the Redeemer will kill everything within the area.

4. BFG 9000 – Doom Series

Not only does the BFG 9000 have the best name ever (Big Fucking Gun) it is also the most powerful gun in Doom series. The BFG 9000 is a huge, solid metal gun that fires balls of green plasma which is capable of disintegrating anything within the radius of a single shot.

3. Red Shell – Mario Kart Series

There’s nothing more terrifying in Mario Kart than hearing the sound of the Red Shell approach you from behind. The Red Shell is a homing device, that will relentlessly chase you until you have be obliterated.  Not only is the Red Shell the most effecet weapon in Mario Kart, but if your lucky there is a chance you can pick up three Red Shells in one item box, these three Red Shells can also be used to create a barrier to block against other hazards which include other opponents Red Shells.

2. The Blades of Chaos – God of War Series

The Blades of Chaos are a gift from Aries the God of War to Kratos when he pledges himself as his servent. The Blades of Chaos are a pair of curved blades ,which have been permanently ataached to Kratos forearms by chains which gives Kratos the ability to swing them at a distance. Kratos can also unleash a variety of devastating and stylish combo’s using Blades of Chaos against his enemies (which seems to be everyone).

1. Gravity Gun – Half Life 2

While the Gravity Gun has no ammo of it’s own it does have two different  functions. The first emits a small charge of energy which knocks back the targeted enemy or object. The second function lets you grab almost any object and use it as ammo. The Gravity Gun can also be used to solve puzzle’s and can help you to scale barriers and obstacles in the game. Later in the game the Gravity Gun get’s upgraded which then allows the user to grab people, in my opinion this is by far the most entertaining use of the Gravity Gun as you can use the enemy to attack their allies in this fashion.
