Nintendo’s Wii Has Made UK History

The Nintendo Wii has become the fastest selling console in UK’s history its sold over SIX MILLION units since its release in the UK alone.

So why has it made history over here in the UK?
Well, it was achieved in less than three years on sale, that alone makes Wii the fastest selling video game console in UK history and its also the quickest ever to reach six million units sold. Wii was originally launched in the UK on 8th December 2006 and officially passed six million UK sales week ending 28th November 2009.

David Yarnton, General Manager, Nintendo UK commented on the six million sales figure saying: “With its inclusive, family friendly and fun nature, we’re very pleased Wii seems to have captured the imagination of over six million families across the UK and reached such a landmark sales figure in such a short space of time. We’ll work even harder to ensure that the interest in Wii stretches over months and years, appealing to people of all ages and gaming experience.”
